Auction Rules

1. Since the mail is not always dependable, and in order to give our clients the best service, we strongly recommend that you call your bids in early. We will be happy to assist you with your bidding, answer any questions, or give more exact descriptions of the lots.

2. Each lot in this sale has an estimated price to aid the bidder. If a lot has not been opened, we ask that you start the bidding at 50% of the low estimate.

3. You may call at any time prior to the closing of the sale to check the status of your bid. At that time you will be informed of the highest current bid. You may then, of course, raise your bid if you desire.

4. Your bid, either written or oral, grants Glass International the authority to bid for you, up to the amount of the stated bid.

5. The current bid is determined by taking the second highest bid, then increasing it by one bidding increment. Increments will be as follows: Note- On the internet, the auction software requires a fixed increment which is based on the median between the high and low estimates. Therefore if bidding using the internet auction, the increments will be slightly different than those bidding by phone. If you are not happy bidding these increments – call in your bids to 609-714-2595 and then the increments follow the posted catalog increments.

Up to $250.00....increments of $10.00
$250.00-$500.00....increments of $25.00
$500.00-$1,000.00....increments of $50.00
$1, 000-$2,500.00....increments of $100.00
$2,500-$5,000.00....increments of $250.00
$5,000-$10,000.00....increments of $500.00
$10,000.00 & up....increments of $1,000.00

Example: you bid $1000 on a lot, which is the highest bid received to date. The second highest bid is $500 – the current bid is yours at $525. Any bid received below $1000 will automatically be increased until we reach your maximum bid level.

6. In the event of tie bids, the earliest bid received will be the winner.

7. The auctioneer will not disclose pledged bids, only the current high bid.

8. A 12% buyer’s premium will be added to the hammer price up to $10,000 and 10% for 10,000 and higher.

9. Incoming phone bids will be accepted up to 11:00 P.M., Eastern Standard Time, on the closing day Sunday, November 28th 2010. Any calls already on hold at that time will be accepted. Calls coming in after 11:00 P.M. will not be honored. The mail is not always on time. If the sale date is less than one week away, please call your bids in. Please call in your questions about lots prior to closing day otherwise, we may not be able to spend as much time with you as necessary, due to the last minute rush.

10. Call between 10:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M., Monday thru Friday, except Wednesday 1:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M., Saturday 1:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M., closed Sunday (Except open call back Sunday). Last week of sale call any time from 10:00 A.M. – 6:00 P.M., same for call back period. Please!! We urge you to call us over the call back weekend; it really helps us to get the job done.

11. Call back service: If you desire a call back on any lot you may have been outbid on, please place a check on your bid sheet next to those lots. Any lots that have not been resolved prior to the closing time will be resolved by call backs over the next few days. Please indicate the telephone number, on your bid sheet, where you can be reached between 9:00 A.M. – 8:00 P.M. eastern Standard Time. Bidders may forfeit Call Back rights if we are unable to reach you. You may, in addition, call us a callback. No callbacks will be executed on any lots at bidding levels under $100.

12. You will be permitted to increase bids only on lots that you have placed bids on prior to 11:00 P.M. of the closing day of the sale. No bidding will be permitted on additional lots, which you have not placed a bid on prior to the closing time, during the Call Back period. Also, although the auction officialy closes Sunday, November 28th 2010 Eastern Standard time, lots posted on the internet may begin to shut down earlier or latter in the day. If you are bidding via the internet and wish to bid after the item closes on the internet but before the official closing time, call in your bids to 609-714-2595. Time listed on the internet is Pacific Time so remember to convert.

13. The highest bidder shall prevail. It is the sole right of the Auctioneer to settle any dispute between bidders, to offer for resale any lot under question and to regulate the bidding. The Auctioneer also reserves the right to refuse any bid he believes not to have been made in good faith.
